Avant d'écouter les sorties réunies dans le label Grime Stone Records, je ne connaissais quasiment rien du dungeon synth. Aujourd'hui, j'ignore si je suis un converti mais je suis émerveillé par toutes les surprises qui s'y trouvent ! Dans le cas de Songs From The Valley, malgré toutes les références aux sorcières, Clem nous met dans les oreilles un dungeon synth infusé de sons de la Mega Drive avec des petites incursions dans le grunge, et le tout en restant très doux et nostalgique. Joli !

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names.

Abysmal Specter est un expert ès châteaux : avec Curta'n Wall, il en détaille les fondations (... pour mieux les pulvériser) et avec Old Nick, il explore les cryptes et les objets magiques qui s'y trouvent. Il s'avère qu'il a un autre projet, Bloody Keep, qui lui permet de s'intéresser aux châteaux habités par les vampires. Mais on ne parle pas de ceux au teint blafard : le raw black metal de Cup of Blood in the Top of the Tower est passionné. Un premier E.P. qui donne la couleur : rouge sang !
